The electric motor has each of the carbon brushes (18) contained within a respective reception housing (20,21), with a guide allowing longitudinal displacement of the carbon brush. The housing also contains an elongate electrical contact element (14,15) electrically connected to the carbon brush and displaced between a readiness position and a contact position. Pref. the carbon brush is coupled to the contact between via a coil spring (25,26) which extends parallel to the contact surface of the contact element and attached to a right angle section (31,32) at the end of the contact element.
