A system and method for processing financial service applications include a flexible interface (208) to a variety of sources for application data, and uses an automated method for generating graphical user interfaces (208) in the preferred embodiment. The system processor (210) can operate in either batch or real time mode to accommodate a variety of data sources and to level system loading. The system also includes a second flexible interface (208) to a variety of decision engines (200, 202, 204, 206). The method supports use of a single decision engine (200, 202, 204, 206), but also accommodates the use of two or more decision engines in parallel or in series to process data from the same application. Interfaces (208) to the decision engines and customer input ports may be custom generated. An automated method for generating Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs) is illustrated in the context of a system for processing financial applications. In one embodiment, the GUI generator converts domain data representing over one thousand application types into an equal number of corresponding user screens. The interface may also be bi-directional, operating on user inputs to validate data or check for double keying. |
