PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sofa apparatus wherein a backrest body can be releasably mounted to a cushion body at any points thereof. SOLUTION: The sofa apparatus includes a cushion body 1 which is held at a predetermined level by a leg body 4 underlying the cushion body and a backrest body 11 provided on the body 1. The backrest body 11 has a backrest frame 12, which is bent so that one of the opposite ends thereof is located on the upper surface of the body 1, the other end thereof being located on the underside of the body 1. The backrest member 13 is provided at one end of the frame 12 so that the lower end of the member 13 makes contact with the upper side of the cushion body, while the other end, being a contact part 14, of the frame 12 is disposed on the underside of the cushion body 1 at a point below the upper side thereof, where the lower end of the member 13 is in contact with the upper side of the body 1, so as to contact inward of the underside of the cushion body.
