<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and unit for packet exchange between networks that does not use a router but uses a switch in order to route a packet to a destination. SOLUTION: This invention provides a route server that assembles a packet logically addressed for transmission on a network, decides whether or not an address map of a host assembling the packet includes a physical address of a destination, encloses the packet to the destination physical address when the destination physical address is included in the address map, judges whether or not the destination indicates that the destination physical address is a part of the network the same as the host when the address map includes no destination physical address, broadcasts an address request to obtain the destination physical address and receives a reply with respect to the broadcast address request.</p> |
