PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the total amount of money of one or more receipts issued for one purchase from exceeding the amount of the purchase. SOLUTION: When the issue of a receipt is commanded and 1st amount data are inputted, it is judged whether or not the 1st amount data are not more than the amount of the purchase. When so, a receipt having the 1st amount data printed in its amount column is issued and the 1st amount data are stored. Then when 2nd amount data are inputted, it is judged whether or not the sum of the 2nd amount data and the 1st amount data is not more than the amount of the purchase. When so, a receipt having the 2nd amount data printed in its amount column is issued, but when the amount of the purchase is exceeded, no receipt is issued.
