<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ATM cell communication system and a method by which ATM cells can accurately be transmitted even when an active/standby receiver is switched and the processing load can be relieved. SOLUTION: The ATM cell communication system where a transmitter 1 transmits an ATM cell to receivers 2, 3 acting respectively like active and standby receivers via an ATM switch 9, is provided with active/standby collation sections 5, 7, 15, 17 that collate with each other as to which of the active/ standby receivers the ATM cell is transmitted, and SAR processing sections 4, 14 that apply division and assembling processing to ATM cells on the basis of the collation result of the active/standby collation sections.</p> |
