PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress torque fluctuations in changeover of a combustion mode of a cylinder injection engine. SOLUTION: To suppress torque fluctuations generated by changes in control parameters (throttle opening, EGR quantity, etc.), adjusted for holding the stable combustion state before/after the changeover of the combustion mode, a request illustration torque is corrected by the torque efficiency (air-fuel ration efficiency and ignition timing efficiency) in the homogenous combustion mode so that a target air quantity set according to the request illustration torque is corrected. In the stratified charge combustion mode, the request illustration torque is corrected by the torque efficiency (air-fuel ratio efficiency) so that a target air quantity set according to the request illustration torque is corrected. In the stratified charge combustion mode, the torque fluctuation may be suppressed by the correction of the ignition timing besides the correction of the target quantity. |
