The information storage card uses a conventional smart card (7) carrying an integrated circuit (9) with surface contacts and an adapter (3) which has a slot (11) at one end to accept the smart card and a plug (4) at the other end to fit into the socket provided on the video game console. Different adaptors allow use of the card with different sockets.
