PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an earth retaining block excellent in environmental preservation efficiency capable of having excellence in drainage efficiency, preventing the damage caused by drainage fault or the collapse of retaining wall or the like, at the same time, facilitating the construction of retaining wall or the like at a specific slope capable of controlling the effect of earth pressure, having excellence in useability, convenience and productivity and, at the same time, carrying out the construction of retaining wall or the like together with greening work. SOLUTION: The earth retaining block includes the front wall 2, the rear wall 3 approximately parallel with the front wall 2 at a specific interval, side walls 4a and 4b connected with both ends of the front wall 2 and rear wall formed at approximately right angles to the front wall 2 and rear wall 3, an uneven step section 6 formed on the upper end of the rear wall 3 and through- holes 2a, 3a, 5a and 5b formed by passing through the front wall 2, rear wall 3, side walls 4a and 4b.
