PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polarized wave dispersion compensation device for reducing the manufacture cost by utilizing the fact that the majority of digital optical transmission systems applies an error detection/correction method so as to increase the transmission speed and a transmission distance supplied by an optical fiber. SOLUTION: This device compensates the polarized wave dispersion of a link by processing received optical signals Sr&Igr; by using a polarization controller PC, a means DDG for generating a group delay time difference between two orthogonal polarization modes and the control means CU of the polarization controller PC. Transmission data are redundant so as to detect an error for damaging reception data and the control means CU is constituted so as to minimize a bit error rate calculated in real time from the redundant data. It is applied to long distance optical transmission through a standard fiber. |
