PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile telephone set on which a user interface is mounted, a character display method for the mobile telephone set, and a recording medium where a program for this method is recorded which resolve line feed deviations due to difference between machine types or the like and line feed for punctuation marks, periods, etc., which should not be in the head of a line, to make character information easy to read by automatically adjusting the display width of character information. SOLUTION: A display width control part 206 examines the leading character of line data acquired from a display character information storage part 204, and the control part 206 adds an attribute of inter-character space reduction to line data of the preceding line, when detecting a character interdicted in the head of a line. A display part 205 reduces inter-character spaces in the line, to which the attribute of inter-character space reduction is given, and acquires a corresponding character pattern stored in a character pattern storage part 207 so as to display it in the end of the line. |
