PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that the speeding up of operation is difficult since data transfer control including monitoring of a free area of a buffer memory is performed by an MPU when sector length of transferred data exceeds 512 bytes since area control of the buffer memory is performed only by the unit of one sector in the conventional system. SOLUTION: Reference values for area judgment of the buffer memory are switched by the sector length of transferred data and data transfer is performed according to a judgment result of a buffer memory status signal. In addition, data storage areas to the buffer memory are switched according to the kinds of commands issued by a host computer.
