PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a device for preventing display image persistence which gives less sense of incongruity and makes image persistence inconspicuous. SOLUTION: A color level discriminating part 12, which discriminates whether the signal level of each color of RGB of a still screen is higher than a preliminarily set prescribed threshold level and a color level setting part 13 which individually sets the signal level each color provided. When the still screen is displayed continuously for a preliminarily set prescribed time or longer, the color level setting part 13 sets the part of a color, of which the signal level is higher or lower than the threshold level discriminated by the color level discriminating part 12, to a signal level which inverts the luminance to give the complementary color or approximates the color to this complementary color, and a level control part 8 controls this signal level.
