PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotation angle detection device comprising an encoder scale high resolution. SOLUTION: In this rotation angle detection device, a surface of the encoder scale 103 is formed with a radial slit-like lattice pattern 118 and an axially aligning mark 132 for concentrically aligning to a rotary shaft 122. A surface of a flange part 137 of the rotary shaft 122 is formed with a mark 133 corresponding to the mark 132 of the encoder scale 103. In alignment of the encoder scale 103 and the rotary shaft 122, the encoder scale 103 and the rotary shaft 122 are combined, positions of both the marks 132, 133 are adjusted, and the encoder scale 103 and the rotary shaft 122 are fixed by an adhesive when the marks 132, 133 are aligned.
