PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively provide a low temperature tank which facilitates work execution management, has fire resistance and prevents a low temperature liquefied gas from leaking out to the outside of an outer vessel when an inner vessel is damaged by an earthquake or the like. SOLUTION: In this low temperature tank 21 of a double shell structure composed of the inner vessel 2 and the outer vessel 3 surrounding the inner vessel 2, an outer vessel side plate 4 and an outer vessel base plate 5 are made of a material for low temperature same as that of the inner vessel 2, the outer vessel 3 and the inner vessel 2 are respectively connected to a foundation 6 relatively displacesably in low temperature shrinkage, and a range from an inner peripheral face of the outer vessel side plate 4 to an upper face of the outer vessel base plate 5 around the inner vessel 2 is covered by a fire-resisting material 22.
