PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coaxial film capacitor which is increased in density and reduced in size, can store more capacitance, and has a simple structure and, at the same time, for which the characteristics, such as the capacitance, rated voltage, etc., required for capacitors can be adjusted easily and a method of manufacturing the capacitor. SOLUTION: This coaxial film capacitor is formed in a film pipe 5 by winding first electrode layers 3a and 6a, a first dielectric film 4a, second electrode layers 3b and 6b, and a second dielectric film 4b together around a center rod 2 in an overlapping state. Electric charges are taken in and out of the first electrode layers 3a and 6a on one plane side of the pipe 5 and also taken in and out of the second electrode layers 3b and 6b on the other plane side of the pipe 5.
