PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use an input predicting function without changing IME. SOLUTION: A character-string-before-conversion extraction part 4 extracts a KANA(Japanese syllabary) input character string by referring to a message showing the recognition result of the KANA input character string by IME2 at the time of character input. A determined character string extraction part 5 extracts a character string after conversion by referring to a message showing a conversion processing result by the IME. A prediction data learning part 6 learns character strings after conversion predicted from the KANA input character string by using extraction results of respective character strings and stores prediction data showing the learning result in a prediction database 10. An input prediction part 7 performs retrieval from the prediction database 10 by using the KANA input character string extracted by the extraction part 4. Candidates for the character string after conversion which are extracted through this retrieval are listed and displayed on a monitor screen by a prediction result display part 8.
