<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method to develop a new light source for a headlight capable of mounting a metal halide lamp as it is, without giving any alterations to a commonly used headlight for a halogen lamp. SOLUTION: This light source (A) for a headlight mounted on a socket (26) for the lamp for the headlight is composed of a base (7) mounted on the socket (26), a shading plate (23) which is attached to the base (7) and capable of forming low beam light, a metal halide lamp 1 arranged reciprocably between a position (X) of the plate (23) and an other position of nonsetting position of the plate (Y) where the traveling is formed light is formed, and a driving part (17) for making the metal halide lamp reciprocate between the two positions for (X) and (Y).</p> |
