<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically detect a panning mode and to make its setting/ releasing automatic. SOLUTION: The angular speed of a digital camera is set in an angular speed sensor 9. The detected angular speed is supplied to integrating circuits 15X, 15Y and a panning mode detecting circuit 12. The supplied angular speed is integrated and the moving quantity of the digital camera is determined in the integrating circuits 15X, 15Y. An optical axis varying element is driven to change the optical axis in a direction where the movement of the digital camera is negated according to the digitalized moving quantity. When the panning mode is detected, a switch circuit 14 is turned on in the panning mode detecting circuit 12. The vertical synchronizing signal extracted from video signals is supplied as a reset signal via a terminal 13 to the integrating circuits 15X, 15Y.</p> |
