PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a file protecting method by which erasure of a file is performed so that the file can be prevented from being arranged at the same position when deleting a file from a storage medium and then restoring the file from the backup file of the file to the original medium and to provide a storage medium for storing a file protection program. SOLUTION: A file to be erased is erased, and a file whose storage position on a storage medium can be changed is detected from files other than the file to be erased, and the storage position of the detected file whose storage position can be changed on the medium is changed.
