PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To tightly adhere a bending part of a mask device (escutcheon) which is in contact with a CRT tube surface to the CRT tube surface, by reducing the dimension of the bending part as much as possible. SOLUTION: A cabinet is constituted, in such a way that a metal mask 2 covering the four peripheral edge parts of CRT 1, is attached to an opening corresponding to the CRT tube surface, a nearly continuous surface is formed by the front surface of the cabinet 3 and the metal mask surface and bending work is performed in the opening edge parts of the cabinet 3 for attaching the metal mask 2.
