PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector for a flexible board further down-sized, without causing problems concerning strength such as damage of the flexible board. SOLUTION: A slider 5 is provided for pressure welding a flexible board 6 to contacts 3, 4. The contacts incorporate contact pieces 7, 8 with contact parts 13, 14 for contacting with the surface of the flexible board and receiving pieces 11, 12 facing each other with an interval on the rear face. The slider is provided with a pressing piece 17, inserted into the interval between the flexible board and the receiving piece, for pressure welding the flexible board with the contact part. The receiving piece has stepped parts 15, 16 so that the rear side of the flexible board comes nearer to the contact piece than the insertion side. These stepped parts have a role of transferring the pressing piece to the contact piece orthogonally against the fitting direction, when the slider is inserted into the fitting direction.
