<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for image display which can easily find a desirable image out of many images stored in recording media, etc. SOLUTION: The CPU 50 of an image output device which is usable as a print service machine detects the number of object images to be displayed as to images inputted from an input device 56 for recording media. When the number of the images is not more than a prescribed number (e.g. not more than two pages of thumbnail lists), a display device 21 immediately displays lists. When the number of the images exceeds the prescribed number (three or more pages of thumbnail lists), a retrieval picture for narrowing down the images is displayed before the list display. After the user narrows down objects by specifying the date and time of photography, etc., in the retrieval picture, the list display is performed. When the user selects a desirable image from the list display picture, the image is printed out on a printer as an output device 62 and provided to the user.</p> |
