PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-beam light source unit which can arrange an arrangement direction of a light emitting point of a multi-beam laser diode to the main scanning direction of a scanning optical system in the direction of a design basis straight line planned in design. SOLUTION: The multi-beam light source unit is equipped with a collimating lens 33 which supports rotatably the multi-beam laser diode 31 capable of emitting a multi-laser beam from a plurality of light emitting points and coverts the multi-beam laser emitted from the multi-beam laser diode 31 into a parallel luminous flux, and a base member 30 which has a reference surface butted against the reference surface of a main body part of an image forming device and is attached at the main body part of the image forming device is provided. After positioning the multi-beam laser diode 31 to the base member 30, by rotating the multi-beam laser diode 31, the arrangement direction of a light emitting point is substantially adjusted in the direction of the design basis straight line planned in design parallel.
