PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method for melting and treating industrial wastes by which the occurrence of dust, such as ash, unburned carbon, etc., dioxins caused by the discharge of a gas to the outside of the device following combustion by causing sludge, combustion residue, and indstrial wastes to cause reactions by completely melting them. SOLUTION: Industrial wastes and a combustion improver are thrown in the furnace of this device and, in the initial state of combustion, a ceramic fire gate is heated with an auxiliary burner. When the device is operated for combustion, the industrial wastes piled up on the fire gate are melted and caused to react and unburned carbon and dust are slagged and the slag is dropped down through the through holes slit grooves of the fire gate by heating the fire gate with high-temperature heated air or a secondary combustion burner for a pyrolysis gas. In addition, the scattered dust generated in the furnace during combustion is caught by means of an inversely flowing type cyclone and dropped into a melting section so that only a clean pyrolysis gas may be discharged to the outside and its heat or energy may be utilized for power generation, etc.
