PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile phone by which a user can browse information displayed on its display section during a speech. SOLUTION: The mobile phone is provided with a backlight that emits light onto the display section and a means that lights the backlight when being connected to a line. Or the mobile phone is provided with the backlight emitting light onto the display section and a means that lights the backlight when being connected to the line and puts out the backlight when not being connected to the line. Or the mobile phone is provided with the backlight emitting light onto the display section and a means that lights the backlight when being connected to the line and any button operation is made and puts out the backlight when not connected to the line and no button operation is made. Or the mobile phone is provided with the backlight emitting light onto the display section and a means that lights the backlight when being connected to the line and non-voice communication is made and puts out the backlight when not connected to the line and voice communication is made.
