PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital broadcast tuner having a control circuit that can exchange a signal with a main control section provided to a digital broadcast receiver and control each circuit in itself and to provide the digital broadcast receiver provided with the tuner. SOLUTION: When a host CPU 3 gives information relating to a transmission rate of data and a channel frequency obtained by a DRAM 4 to a sub CPU 6 in a tuner 2 via a bus line 13, the sub CPU 6 gives channel frequency information to a channel selection circuit 7. Then the sub CPU 6 controls the channel selection circuit 7 and a QPSK demodulation circuit 8 in order to conduct data processing at the given transmission rate in response to a system program stored in the DRAM 5.
