PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intake device of an engine, capable of reinforcing swirls generated in a combustion chamber while reducing the intake resistance. SOLUTION: The intake device of the engine is provided with intake passages 6a, 6b for supplying intake air to a combustion chamber 5 through intake ports 8a, 8b and a mask plate 20 for generating swirls on intake air to be supplied to the combustion chamber. Each intake passage is provided with a curved part 17 in the upstream extending along the intake air flowing direction from the intake port. The curved part has an inner curved part 17a positioned inside the curve and an outer curved part 17b positioned outside the curve and having the curvature larger than that of the inner curved part. The mask plate is provided with at least one projecting part 22 to be projected to the inside of the intake port and for controlling the flowing direction of intake air to be supplied to the combustion chamber. The projecting part is positioned on a streamline F1 of intake air flowing in the intake passage along the outer curved part.
