PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform a high speed search for various optical disks of different linear velocities and track pitches with simple constitution. SOLUTION: A controller 25 measures the real linear velocity of this disk 10 from the rotational speed of the disk 10 detected based on an output of a frequency signal generator(FG) 12 and a position of an optical pickup 13 detected with an optical pickup moving position detective sensor 17 in the radial direction of the disk 10, and corrects the number of jump tracks stored in a search table based on the measured linear velocity of the disk 10 to perform a macro search based on the number of corrected jump tracks.
