PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic recording medium including a lubricating layer having excellent lubricating characteristics without causing any weight loss due to a spin migration phenomenon caused by its high speed ration and a high temperature environment. SOLUTION: The magnetic recording medium having at least a non-magnetic base layer, a magnetic layer, a carbon protective layer and the lubricating layer which are successively laminated on a non-magnetic substrate is characterized in that the lubricating layer includes perfluoropolyether having a number- average molecular weight of 5,000-10,000 and Mw/Mn of 1.10 or less. |
