PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an on-line program test without requiring any operator even when an operation is necessary. SOLUTION: This simulator is provided with a timer monitoring means for controlling a query time to an on-line program to be tested operating on a host computer, a screen query means for issuing query to the on-line program by the timer monitoring means, a screen storing means for storing the results of screen query in a screen table, a telegraphic message analyzing means for deciding whether or not an operation is necessary by comparing a telegraphic message transmitted from the host computer with screen table, and operation selecting means for selecting an optimal operation from an operation group when the operation is necessary by the telegraphic message analyzing means, and an operation generating means for executing the selected operation.
