PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve display quality of a display device adopting a multiline drive method by devising configurations of a data line drive circuit and a scanning line drive circuit. SOLUTION: When the number of scanning lines to be selected simultaneously defined as h=4, and the total number of the scanning lines is defined as n=20, for example, the scanning line drive circuit 2100 is provided with a shift register 102 of (n/h)=30 stages which store which stores the data that specify the scanning lines to be selected and a decoder 103 which decodes the data that specify the voltage level to be applied to the scanning lines and the data outputted from the 30 stage shift register and generates the signals which show the scanning lines to be driven and the drive voltage.
