PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate trouble that the degree of freedom in terms of arrangement of a detection means detecting the position or the like of a lens barrel is low and a reduction gear system and an entire lens barrel get large when the detection means is assembled in the reduction gear system. SOLUTION: This lens barrel where driving force is transmitted to a lens barrel constituting member 19 from a driving source 3 through the reduction gear system is constituted so that the detection means 11a and 14 outputting a signal for detecting the position of the member 19 in the optical axis direction may be driven by detection gear systems 11 and 13 branched from the reduction gear system.
