PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a foot size measuring apparatus capable of enhancing the accuracy of measuring the size of a foot by picking up the images of both the sole and sides of the foot, and analyzing the images, and capable also of being made compact and lightweight because of a simple structure, while enabling foot size measuring operations to be performed efficiently in any place and allowing cost reduction for easy application. SOLUTION: A mirror 3 for reflecting the sole of the foot placed on a translucent footrest plate 2 is disposed and an image pickup means 4 is also disposed for directly picking up images of the sides of the foot and for picking up an image of the sole of the foot as a mirror image. Because foot size information is obtained through the analysis of image information obtained by picking up the images of the sides and sole of the foot, the image pickup means 4 does not need to be placed beneath the location of the foot placed, and images of the foot can be picked up by means of a simple mechanism, resulting in a compact and low-cost apparatus. Also, the size information necessary and sufficient to select shoes can be obtained with appropriate accuracy from the images of the sides and sole of the foot.
