PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor device as a processor with a built-in memory in which man-hours required for designing can be reduced, and an operating speed can be quickened. SOLUTION: This semiconductor device is provided with a central arithmetic processing unit (1), a cache memory (3), and an internal memory (6). The cache memory (3) performs access to the central arithmetic unit (1) and the data. The internal memory (6) performs access to the cache memory (3) and the data, and includes plural banks (7-1-7-4). The word length of each of the banks (7-1-7-4) and the number of bits of each word line are decided so as to be automatically designable. Also, access between the cache memory (3) and each of the banks (7-1-7-4) is operated by an interleave operation.
