发明名称 PHOTODYNAMIC THERAPY FOR SELECTIVELY CLOSING NEOVASA IN EYEGROUND TISSUE
摘要 A method for selectively closing neovasa in the eyeground tissue which comprises intravenously administering mono-L-aspartyl chlorin e6 or its salt (in particular, tetarasodium salt) to a patient in a dose of from 0.5 to 10 mg/kg; after the administration, judging the point at which the mono-L-aspartyl chlorine e6 compound is decreased or completely eliminated from normal retinal vasa of the patient but accumulated and remains at a significant concentration in the vascular wall of neovasa in the eyeground tissue; then starting laser irradiation at a wavelength of 664 nm from the appropriate point; and thus irradiating a lesion area containing the neovasa with the laser beams at a fluence controlled to a specific level. This method, which makes it possible to selectively close neovasa in the eyeground tissue, is useful in treating diseases caused by neovascularization in the choroid such as macular degeneration with aging or diseases caused by neovascularization in the retina such as proliferating diabetic retinopathy.
