GAMMA RADIATION STERILIZABLE MULTILAYER FILMS

Multilayer films comprising at least one external layer (A) selected from (i) ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymers (EVA) containing up to 10 % moles of units deriving from vinyl acetate or (ii) propylene copolymers containing up to 15 % moles of ethylene and/or alpha -olefins and at least one internal layer (B) comprising a polyolefin heterophasic composition containing from 50 to 94 % by weight of a fraction which is insoluble in xylene at room temperature and from 6 to 50 % by weight of a fraction which is soluble in xylene at room temperature. These films show a high tolerance towards gamma radiations and can be used in the packaging of sterilizable medical articles.
