The invention relates to a device for machining down the bearing shells of (1) plain bearings, which comprises a clamping device (15) for the bearing shells (1) that are supplied and removed by transport devices and a tool carriage (3) that can be displaced using a feed mechanism (5). The tool carriage has a tool spindle (9) which is connected to a spindle drive (10) and has preferably two machining tools, situated at an axial distance from one another and placed in a spindle housing (7) that can be pivoted about an axis (8), said axis running perpendicular to the axial plane of symmetry of the bearing shell (1) that is clamped in the clamping device (15). According to the invention, to create advantageous conditions for construction, the spindle housing (7) accommodates two coaxial, tool spindles (9), oriented in opposing directions that can be driven by the same spindle drive (10) and that are used alternately. Clamping devices (15) for the bearing shells (1), connected to both the supply and removal transport device, are also located upstream and downstream of the spindle housing (7) and said spindle housing (7) can be pivoted back and forth, limited by a stop, using a pivoting drive, depending on which of the two tool spindles (9) is used. |
