PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a space between grid electrodes of a fluorescent character display tube, ensure the connection of the grid electrode with a wiring conductor, and facilitate their connection work. SOLUTION: A connection portion for the grid electrode 24 and the wiring conductor 27 is provided inside or outside a vacuum vessel consisting of a glass substrate 21, a side plate 22, and a glass substrate 23. The grid electrode 24 and the wiring conductor 27 are connected to each other through an anisotropic conductive paste 25.
