PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for money processing by which acceptance of old money can be automatically stopped according to the circulation amount of new money. SOLUTION: While a coin type decision part 12 decides both new and old money as genuine money and accepts them, a switching condition decision part 14 compares the throw-in state of the new money with a condition stored in a condition value storage part 15. When the conditions are in agreement, a coin kind decision part 12 returns the old money as false money.
