<p>A road sign device comprising a bottomed, tubular case opened in one of the bottoms, a lid attached to the opening of the case and having an opening, a battery device housed in the case, a spontaneously emitted light sign system provided with a luminous body for emitting light by power supplied from the battery device and with a circuit for driving the luminous body, and a translucent member for transmitting light from the luminous body for emission to the outside. The translucent member is fixed with its peripheral edge held between the lid and the case, and is so provided as to protrude at part thereof to the outside beyond the lid's opening. The spontaneously emitted light sign system is provided with a light emitting diode installed with no voltage applied thereto so as to enable it, for the purpose of detecting the light quantity of a road environment, to generate an electromotive force on receiving an incident light. A sign light emitting diode is drive-controlled based on an electromotive force by the first light emitting diode.</p> |
