The bus diagnosis device uses a line driver (1) coupled to the bus lines (A,B) for supplying a switching flank signal, with a damping circuit (1-6), e.g. a low-pass filter, used for damping the switching flanks and activated for an interval which ends before the start bit (SB) of a data telegram to be transmitted. The line driver (1) has a first input receiving a transmission request signal (RTS) and a second input receiving a relatively delayed transmission signal (TXD) incorporating the data telegram to be transmitted and the a preceding switching flank, the bus lines coupled to respective damping capacitors (2,3) which are each coupled to a damping driver (6).
