1,174,662. Shift register. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. 17 Jan., 1967 [28 March, 1966], No. 2415/67. Heading G4P. Each stage of a shift register comprises two non-bi-stable gates 1a, 1b, Fig. 2 (also Fig. 1, not shown) and a trigger FF1. One pair of control inputs 7a, 7b of the gates is fed by inverse outputs from the previous stage, and the other pair 6a, 6b is normally maintained at a subambient pressure. Thus, normally the power jet of each gate is biased to atmosphere 8a, 8b. Shifting is effected by applying positive shift pulses to inputs 6a, 6b, but the shift pulses are arranged to be of smaller amplitude than a " one " input to inputs 7a and 7b, from the previous stage, and hence, when the subambient bias is replaced by a shift pulse the power jet of one of the gates is switched, via channel 9a, 9b to switch the trigger FF1, which, being bi-stable, remains in the condition to which it was switched after the controlling input ceases.
|
