The latent heat or cold store is based on the change in the phase of a material stored in a matrix of open-pore metal foam. The cavity volume of the uncharged metal foam is 70-99%. The pore size of the foam is 50 mu m to 20 mm. The melting/freezing point of the material is between minus 30 and plus 250[deg]C.
