Printing data equivalent to one line on a printing sheet of a specified size are sequentially transferred to one of a plurality of memory areas formed by dividing a print image deployed memory. While rolled paper is being fed a distance equivalent to a lateral-direction length (width) of paper of a specified size, such as A4, a printer prints printing data of a plurality of lines stored in each memory area onto the rolled paper, with the printing rotated 90<. The rolled paper having data printed thereon is cut into pieces each having a specified lateral length and they are joined together to obtain a printing matter of a specified size.
