The locking sleeve comprises a hollow body(2) with a wall(2a) with a control contour such as a slot system(4) or a grid. At least one part of the wall is strengthened in the region of the control contour. The wall may be strengthened by means of a metal strip reinforcement(5) of sheet metal made separately from the sleeve and at least partially fastened to the sleeve. The reinforcement may be an insert section fitted in a free space bounded by wall sections.
