PURPOSE: A system for providing an electronic business card using a data communication network and a method thereof are provided for a sender to transmit a pre-manufactured electronic business card to a specific receiver's terminal by reading the electronic business card from a communication terminal. CONSTITUTION: A communication module(10) is provided in a terminal for transmitting electronic business card data being stored in the terminal, all sorts of control data, and result data through the medium of a data communication network. A key operating unit(12) generates a selection signal for selecting a terminal for transmitting the stored one's electronic business card to another terminal and a screen output demanding signal for confirming to the transmitted electronic business card. An electronic business card preparing unit(14) is linked with the key operating unit(12) and prepares an electronic business card. A receiving visiting card storing unit(16) stores another person's electronic business card data transmitted from another terminal. A transmission visiting card storing unit(18) stores basic form data of an electronic business card for manufacturing/modifying the electronic business card through the electronic business card preparing unit(14). A control unit(20) generally controls a signal flow of the system.
