BLAST FURNACE MORTAR COMPOSITION

PURPOSE: A mortar composition is provided to impart typical strength to high strength ranges of mortar slag by adding specific alkaline material as simple stimulator to the blast furnace slag as the industrial by-product. CONSTITUTION: The mortar composition comprises the blast furnace slag and as the simple stimulator, the alkaline material NaOH and as the stimulator and the reacting material, Ca(OH)2 alone and/or in combination with any one of NaCl, CaCl2, KOH, Ca(OH)2, CaSO4 or sodium silicate in the amount of 0.1-18% by weight based on total weight of the composition. The composition can reinforce typically weak self-curing ability and performances of possible water-curing ability and pozzolane reaction and re-use the blast furnace slag instead of cement material to reduce CO2 exhaust amount and energy required to the plastic work.
