The separate printing format data to be applied onto the printing plate is in digital form. A medium bearing the printing format data is applied to the printing plate (9) and hardened by laser treatment or cooling. The medium is applied according to the ink-jet principle, or by contact and has color-inducing or deflecting properties. The printer, especially multi-colored printer contains a printer with sheet-fed cylinder transferring the printing format data. The printer contains an inker unit (7) and damping system (8). |
