PURPOSE: A method for using a digital file and system for managing the file are provided to offer a merit of a download having a stable service quality and a merit of a streaming service having a rapid hearing function by receiving a portion of a digital file as a download type and providing the remainder as a streaming type. CONSTITUTION: An operation system uses a terminal, a web server(110), a streaming server(120), an encoder(130), a sound source DB(140), and a wire/wireless opened type network connecting the terminal to the web server. The elements of the web server(110) are described as follows. A user managing DB(111) stores users general registration information as ones personal history, cyber money, certification information, file using information, personal information, terminal information etc. A paying unit(112) processes a user's payment being performed using a credit card or cyber money. A control unit(113) is connected to a player(160), the encoder(130), and the streaming server(120) being mounted in a user's terminal, and transmits/receives necessary information as position information of a digital file to a user's terminal. In addition, the control unit(113) controls the paying program(112) and the user managing DB(111).
